Sunway University to Co-Host APAIE2027 Kuala Lumpur

As the curtains fall on #APAIE2026 in Hong Kong, we reflect on a conference that was dynamic, purposeful, and forward-looking. The conversations, partnerships, and shared commitments to advancing internationalisation across the Asia-Pacific region have once again demonstrated the strength and resilience of our global higher education community.

Heartiest congratulations to Associate Professor Mohd Ariffin Abu Hassan on his appointment as the new President of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE).

In a proud and symbolic moment, Malaysia has accepted the #APAIE flag, marking our role as host of #APAIE2027 in Kuala Lumpur, led by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Sunway University is honoured to stand alongside UTM as co-host, together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Universiti Tenaga Nasional, and the International Islamic University Malaysia, in welcoming the global higher education community to Malaysia — a commitment strongly supported by our President, Professor Sibrand Poppema, whose continued engagement in international platforms reflects Sunway’s dedication to global collaboration.
