Sarawak Startup Shines at LaunchX Demo Day

KUCHING – Sarawak’s entrepreneurial spirit was on display at the LaunchX 2025/2026 Demo Day, held on 23 April 2026 at Sunway Square Mall.

Lettuboost Enterprise, representing Sarawak, secured an impressive fourth-place finish and received RM6,500 in seed funding, marking a proud milestone for the state’s young innovators.

The achievement was celebrated by Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS), which has been actively supporting local entrepreneurs through mentorship, funding opportunities, and innovation programmes.

TEGAS reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the next generation of Sarawakian entrepreneurs, highlighting the importance of platforms such as LaunchX in transforming ideas into viable businesses.

LaunchX is an equity-free university startup accelerator co-organised by Sunway Innovation Labs and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), in collaboration with TEGAS.

The programme is designed to help students and young entrepreneurs validate their ideas, refine their business models, and prepare for market entry.

The Demo Day showcased a diverse range of startups from across Malaysia, each presenting innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

Lettuboost Enterprise’s success demonstrated the creativity and resilience of Sarawak’s youth, reinforcing the state’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

TEGAS noted that the recognition at LaunchX reflects the broader vision of Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030, which emphasises digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth.

By supporting initiatives like LaunchX, Sarawak aims to empower its youth to contribute to the state’s transformation agenda.

The collaboration between Sunway Innovation Labs, UTM, and TEGAS has created a strong ecosystem for startups, offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to funding.

This partnership continues to play a vital role in building a pipeline of innovative ventures that can drive Malaysia’s digital economy forward.
