Sunway College A-Level Students Excels in Biology Across National and International Platforms

Sunway College continues to demonstrate academic excellence as its A-Level students achieve outstanding results in the field of Biology across three prestigious competitions at both national and international levels in 2026.

At the international stage, students delivered an impressive performance in the British Biology Olympiad (BBO) 2026. Sunway College recorded a total of 6 Gold, 12 Silver, and 21 Bronze awards, alongside twelve students receiving the Highly Commended distinction and seventeen earning Commendable recognition. These results reflect not only strong subject mastery but also the students’ ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills in a highly competitive global arena.

Closer to home, students also made their mark in the Biology Explorer 2026 competition at the national level. Sunway College secured 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals, in addition to 19 Honourable Mentions. The consistent achievements across categories highlight the depth of talent and the strong foundation in biological sciences nurtured within the programme.

Further reinforcing this success, Sunway College students stood out in the Malaysian Biology Olympiad (MyBO) 2026. Notably, the college produced the highest number of winners within both the top 20 and top 58 rankings nationwide. Four students earned places in the top 20, securing their selection for the prestigious International Biology Olympiad (IBO) Selection Camp 2026, while an additional three students ranked within the top 21 to 58 bracket.
