About Us

The Yunus Social Business Centre at Sunway Education Group (YSBC@SEG) was established in 2018 as a result of a partnership between Sunway Education Group and The Yunus Centre. YSBC@SEG serves as a think tank for issues related to social business, working in the field of poverty alleviation and closing the gap to attain the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Social business plays a key role in achieving the 17 SDGs, especially SDG 1- No Poverty. Translating this thought into action, YSBC@SEG provides a platform to advocate, facilitate and educate the people on the power of social business. Our centre helps to orchestrate positive changes and architects sustainable solutions towards empowering humanity primarily focusing on Malaysia with the vision to positively impact the rest of the world.

Through a diverse range of programmes catering towards social business, the centre utilises the versatile resources available at Sunway Education Group which particularly focuses on knowledge sharing, life- skills workshops and by providing a platform to engage and educate the public about social business as a vehicle for social good.

YSBC@SEG will also serve the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education) where the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation ecosystem have been identified as the key shifts in higher education system.
