Our Counsellors

Jenny Leong Miao Chean

B.Edu (Psychology & Counselling, NTNU, Tw), M.Th. (Th.FJCU, Tw), M.RS (FJCU, Tw)

Jenny has a great passion for humanities concern and humanistic education. She spent 10 years studying in these areas to have a stable foundation on becoming a better humanistic counsellor; she holds a Bachelor Degree in Educational Psychology and Counselling, from National Taiwan Normal University; a Masters Degree in Theology (M.A. in Religious Science), and another Masters Degree in Inter-Religious and Cultural Studies (M.A. in Religious Studies), both from Fu Jen Catholic University which is in virtue of the power granted by the Holy See.

Years of specialized studies and working experiences, in addition to practicing meditation, grant her deeper understanding and insight into human existence (e.g. abilities and problems, values and actions, interactive dynamism and relationship, etc.). She worked as a full time counsellor in Agape Counselling Centre, Pin Hwa High School and Chung Hua High School since the early years of her counselling career; she has years of experience in work and private practices specialized in Child Development, Youth Development, Young Adult Development, Sex Education, Voluntary Caregivers or Helpers Training, and Youth Leaders' Training.

 

Joelin Lim

K.B.:P.A., B.Counselling (Malaya)

Joelin holds a degree in Bachelor of Counselling from the University of Malaya. Her interest and passion would be to provide assistance, guidance and also psychological support to youths and teenagers.

Apart from acquiring counselling experiences during her studies in University of Malaya, her previous internship experience in an education institution allowed her to encounter students' difficulties and able to relate more with students. She is keen to assist students with variety of issues concerning self-confidence, relationship issues with friends, peers, family members and academic issues.

 

Rose M. Devaraj

B.A in Psychology (Uni. of Southern Colorado); M.A in Community Counseling (Uni. of Northern Colorado)

Rose holds a B.A in Psychology from University of Southern Colorado and a M.A in Community Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, U.S.A Her experience includes working with individuals and families in counseling, conducting group counseling and trainings for adults and young adults in the area of self-esteem, emotional intelligence, communication skills, conflict management, and leadership skills amongst others.

She has also conducted trainings and workshops in the areas of Basic Counseling Skills at Sunway University, Calvary Life Ministry and Emmaus Centre; workshops in the area of parenting skills and family communication for Calvary and Emmaus Centre and training in the area of self and relationship management for VTOC (Vocational Training Opportunity Centre), under the Soroptimist International Club who raises funds and initiates projects for the betterment of women under the program areas of the United Nations. She also taught part-time in Help University for Master Student in Counseling in the subject of Marriage and Family Therapy.
