That is where LEAP, the Employability Training Programme comes in! LEAP is a campus-wide training programme designed to create employable graduates.

Employers are becoming more demanding and are looking for more than just mediocre graduates! They are eyeing those who graduate with an edge; all-rounder in academics & extra-curricular activities, excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities.. the list goes on. Hence the call for EMPLOYABLE graduates. As a student, you need to not just work on passing grades but also UPGRADING yourself in other soft skills and developmental areas.

The LEAP programme consists of different activities that are carefully crafted to meet the employer’s market. The activities range from various career talks, industry forums, company visits, career fair, entrepreneurship events, Job Shadow Day, soft-skills workshops and many more.

3 simple steps to be part of LEAP:

1. REGISTER with only RM10* & get your LEAP card 
2. ATTEND LEAP activities/events & collect employability or 'e' training credits via stamps on your LEAP Card
3. Accomplish a minimum of 10 'e' training credits to qualify for a Certificate of Completion

LeaP FAQ

1. What are the activities in LEAP?
   
   • LEAP offers a range of exciting and beneficial activities from big events like Career Fair, Industry Forums, Entrepreneurship Month, Career Exploration Week to smaller scale events like internships, Job Shadow Day, Career Talks, Developmental Trainings, Lunch talks and MANY MORE!!
2. How will I know about LEAP activities?
   
   • Once you are registered in LEAP, you will be in our database and we will keep you posted via email. Or you can look out for our advertisements in the noticeboards, VINE and E-Learn Boards. You will not miss it!
3. How often are the activities and what if I cannot attend them due to classes?
   • The attractive feature about LEAP is that it is designed in a flexible manner whereby students can attend and complete the certification programme at their own pace.
     
     Recognising that all students have a academic-packed schedule and differing schedule, we also schedule our activities to best cater to you. At the same time there will be sufficient activities offered throughout the year for you to complete your certification requirement.
     
     Depending on your schedule, a student can complete LEAP as fast as 2 months, 4 months, 6 months or even take your time up to 12 months. You attend as and when your schedule allows you. Bear in mind that you are required to fulfill 10 e training credits for the LEAP term (1 academic year).
4. What is the RM10 fee for?
   • It is merely a commitment fee. Once you complete the programme with certification, you are entitled to a full refund. However, should you fail to complete the certification programme, that amount will not be refunded.
5. How does the different certification level apply?
   • Simple. For example if you are a 1st year student in the School of Business- Accounting & Finance, you will then work towards LEAP certification for Experience level. And the following academic year, you can enroll in LEAP again for the 2nd year certification. Likewise if you are a Pre-U student, you will work towards the Discovery level certificate.
6. Does LEAP run continuously upon my studies in Sunway?
   • No. LEAP operates on a yearly or academic term basis. In the next term or academic year, you can then renew your enrollment
7. How can I benefit from LEAP?
   • All to gain and none to lose. Our aim is to equip you with essential work and developmental skills, expose you to work environments and careers and challenge you to take charge of your career. The end game is to groom you to be an EMPLOYABLE graduate. With only RM10 commitment fee (refundable) and a little effort to attend the activities (which you will benefit from), how else can you not GAIN?
