Professor Jarlath is Head, Manchester Business School Centre at Sunway. He was the Foundation Vice-Chancellor of Sunway University College (now Sunway University) and is Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Distinguished Professor at Sunway. He has held academic positions at the Universities of Cambridge, Manchester and New South Wales, and is now a Visiting Professor at Trinity College Dublin. He was Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of New South Wales from 1984-91 and Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University, Melbourne from 1991-2003.

Professor Ronayne is a leading ‘science and government’ analyst and has published numerous books and papers in the sciences and in science policy. He graduated BA and MA in Natural Sciences from Trinity College, Dublin, and PhD from the University of Cambridge. He is an Honorary Fellow of Trinity College Dublin, and former Visiting Fellow at Oriel College, Oxford and St John’s College Cambridge. In addition, he is a member of the Order of Australia, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. He is at present engaged in a commissioned slice history of Trinity College Dublin in the period 1991-2001.
