School of Hospitality Tourism & Leisure Management rss

The School of Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Management runs both diploma and degree programmes.

Diploma programmes include Events Management, Hotel Management, and Tourism Management. Students who choose to pursue a degree thereafter will advance into Year 2 of the Sunway-Lancaster Degree Courses. Degree courses are validated by Lancaster University, UK where students who successfully complete the courses will be recognised as graduates of both Sunway University College and Lancaster University, UK. Two types of degrees are on offer: BSc (Hons) International Hospitality Management, and BSc (Hons) International Tourism Management.

The service sector is one of the world’s largest and fastest creators of employment and the programmes here cultivate employability. Emphasis is placed on an experiential-based education making learning fun and interactive. Students have the opportunity to benefit from the state-of-the-art learning resources available: well-equipped culinary labs, a training restaurant, a computerised front office, a mock-up housekeeping suite, a delicatessen and a functional travel bureau. To ensure the relevance of skills obtained from the courses, all students undergo Supervised Work Experience (SWE), a hands-on training in service-related industries. Our students have gained valuable professional experience from events management companies, hotels all over the Asian region, restaurants, retail outlets and travel agencies. Through this, students are exposed to the real world of work and can add valuable work experience to their curriculum vitae.
