The School of Business and Management Studies offers one Diploma programme (Diploma in Business Administration) and three Degree programmes (Accounting and Finance, Business Management, and Business Studies).

The Diploma in Business Administration gives students a broad understanding of various aspects of a business. Upon completion, they can choose to join the workforce or pursue a degree whereby they are offered advanced entry into Year 2 of the BSc (Hons) Business Studies in Sunway University College, subject to meeting entry requirements.

The Degrees courses are validated by the distinguished Lancaster University, UK where students who successfully complete their courses will be recognised as graduates of both Sunway University College and Lancaster University, UK.

Accounting graduates will be given exemptions from professional examination bodies such as ACCA and ICAEW.

BSc (Hons) Business Management programme offers students a holistic and comprehensive curriculum not only in skills to managing a business but also components on liberal arts and sciences, research methods and projects, and internships.

BSc (Hons) Business Studies programme aims to produce graduates with a comprehensive knowledge of a range of business fields i.e. accounting, finance, economics, marketing and management. It incorporates also the study of ethics and good governance.

Sunway University College is renowned as a brand name in the industry with strong corporate links allowing students to enjoy opportunities for internship with established multinational companies and accounting firms. The eight to twelve weeks corporate internship programmes allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real world environment.

Sunway University College’s Young Entrepreneur Society (YES) emerged as the overall winner in the Inter-Universities Business Tycoon Simulation Game 2010 recently. The competition was organised by the Wall Street Society of The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. YES who fielded three teams comprising 3 students each, contended against teams from other private universities such as Taylor’s University College, Monash University and HELP University College among others.

Saluting Exceptional Students

This year’s second Scholarships & Awards Presentation at Sunway University College awarded close to RM2 million in scholarships through the Sunway Education Trust Fund to 285 recipients. Earlier this year in May, Sunway awarded a total of RM3.1 million in scholarships to 785 students. The total that the Trust has dispersed since it was incepted in 1997 is RM50 million in numerous scholarship ceremonies.

Sunway University Students emerged the champions of the Business Challenge event in the CIMB Group and Wall Street Journal Asia Malaysia Future Leadership Program 2008/2009 held recently. The team made up of four students, Chan Jinn Yep, Chan Yung Mun, Joyce Oo Pui Yee and Chang Mei Yan beat teams from 8 other private and public universities and colleges.
