Bandar Sunway, 20 January, 2012 – Sunway University has added yet another milestone to its history of growth with a ground breaking ceremony for its new academic building (“the New University Building”) today. Sunway University Business School champion PNB Quiz

Derick Yee, Sonia Lim and Yap Wan Li who represented the Sunway University Business School (SUBS) during the national level Investment Quiz Competition organised by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) made Sunway University proud when they championed the 2011 competition.  The students did not falter even though they were perceived to be ‘newbies’ in the competition and displayed strength and character throughout. Six Sunway College Cambridge GCE A-Level students received the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards 2011 recently. Stephenas Teh Wee Seng and Wong Sue Yinn clinched the “Top in the World” Awards for Accounting and Psychology respectively, at AS Level.

Buddies from Sunway University look after Lancaster students

Before the 28 exchange students from Lancaster University even arrived for the Sunway-Lancaster Summer Programme 2011 (4th to 24th September) in Malaysia, Sunway University’s students were already interacting with them on Facebook.

Students from Lancaster University on an international summer programme held at Sunway University met the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak.

28 Lancaster University exchange students who were in Sunway University on a 3-week Sunway-Lancaster Summer Programme 2011 planted 150 “Tengek Burung” trees at the Raja Musa Forest Reserve, the largest peat land forest in Selangor. This activity was part of the annual tree planting campaign at the Raja Musa Forest Reserve managed by the Global Environment Centre (GEC), a Malaysian-based NGO committed to foster change in environmental issues. Ten Sunway A-level students were among the world’s top when they achieved a total of 16 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) recently. This is the largest haul of awards in one ceremony for the programme so far.
