The accounting profession is one of the few that transcends borders and Sunway-TES, a subsidiary of Sunway University College, is an established provider of professional accounting courses – the internationally renowned ACA(Associate Chartered Accountant) qualification of ICAEW (The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), and CAT (Certified Accounting Technician).
As the only ACA tuition provider in Malaysia, Sunway University College has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to the principles of training identified in the ICAEW Partner in Learning guidelines, and thus, was awarded the Partner in Learning status in 2007. The ACA qualification is one of the leading business and finance qualifications which seamlessly combines examinations with on-the-job training. It is a highly marketable qualification which is suitable for not only people with an Accounting and Finance background, but people who are competent with numbers and confident in their ability to analyse, discuss, argue and present a case.
ACCA is a premier professional qualification in accountancy. Sunway University College has been consistent in producing highly qualified achievers who have won World and Malaysian Prizes and was the first in the world outside of Europe to be awarded the Premier Plus Status in 2003. This award was later replaced in 2007 by the Approved Learning Partner – Student Tuition, the Platinum Status, a status accomplished upon meeting stringent performance indicators assessed by ACCA.
CAT is a diploma-level qualification which provides an in-depth introduction to accountancy. It is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in finance or to gain an accelerated route to the ACCA qualification. CAT graduates who decide to proceed to an ACCA qualification are granted exemption from the Knowledge Module (3 papers) and go directly to the Skills Module (6 papers) at the Fundamental Level.
