Events student won 1st runner-up in video competition

Our final semester diploma in events management student, Chong Xuan Shan made us proud by winning the 1st runner-up prize in “A day in the life” video choreography competition organised by TalentCorp and Leaderonomics. He walked away with RM5000. His entry was entitled “A Day in the Life of a Drama Teacher”.

He attributed his success to the exposure and creativity that he has gain from the diploma in events management that he is currently pursuing. According Xuan Shan, “we are always encouraged by our lecturers to be creative in our ideas”. Thinking outside the box has definitely helped him in this winning entry.  Another vital point that he picked up from the diploma is good teamwork. In the production of the video, he had assistance from many sources including his diploma classmates.

The organisers received a good number of excellent entries, but only the top ten videos were shortlisted. A judging and award ceremony was held on Monday, 31st October 2011, at Menara Star. TalentCorp CEO Johan Merican, Cradle Fund CEO Nazrin Hassan, Primeworks’ TV content development expert Marini Ramlan, Leaderonomics CEO Roshan Thiran and Hannah Tan starred as judges.
