Joanne Ooi Yuen Kei, 19, was ecstatic upon winning first prize in the Malaysia TrustMark Logo Competition 2009 organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia (MITI). Joanne is a Graphic and Multimedia Design diploma student at Sunway University College and earned a cash prize of RM5,000. Her logo design incorporated a tick or check mark.

Joanne’s classmate, Kenry Tang Tze Lye clinched the third prize in the same competition. Joanne shared “I was very surprised but thankful for my win. I would like to thank my lecturers for their guidance and help throughout my course. Without them I would not have been able to win this prize”. Joanne plans to use her prize money to finance part of the cost of her degree studies in the near future.
