Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah conferred the Honorary Officer of the Order of Australia by Kevin Rudd
It is with immense pride that we announce that Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah, Chancellor of Sunway University College, was recently honoured as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO).
The Hon. Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd presented the Honorary Order of Australia to Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah at the Residence of the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, H.E. Penny Williams, on 10 July 2008.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah was bestowed with this prestigious award for his extraordinary and meritorious contribution to the advancement of education in Malaysia and business links in Australia.
The Order of Australia is an order of chivalry established by Queen Elizabeth ll for the purpose of according recognition to Australian citizens or other persons, for outstanding achievement or commendable service. The Officer of the Order of Australia is given for service of a high degree to Australia or humanity at large and is usually given to Australian citizens. The Honorary Order of Australia Award is the highest and the most distinguished award conferred to a non-citizen of Australia. It is one of Australia’s most prestigious and highly respected awards.
