The 5 days/4 nights residential programme at Mines Resort consisting of seminars and talks was fully sponsored by Prudential. Sunway University was the first partner chosen to participate.

Elizabeth Lee, Executive Director of Sunway University College said “I would like to thank Prudential for choosing us to be the first institution to start this project with. We are indeed proud and honoured to work with Prudential’s team on this programme to develop key knowledge and skills to enable students to be able to seek rewarding career experiences in world-class companies”

One of Prudential’s objectives of the programme was to provide support to institutions of higher education to help bridge the knowledge and skills gap in top students between academia and the employment market. Prudential’s experience and expertise help prepare students for careers in multinational companies which are known to have exacting requirements and job demands due to the global nature of business.

The three core modules of the programme were Understanding Your Individual Preferences, Increasing Your Personal Effectiveness and Developing Career Skills. The 16 Sunway students came from the ACCA international accounting qualification, the Victoria University Bachelor of Business and the School of Computer Technology.

Together with Prudential, the Career Development & Training Unit under the umbrella of Student Services Department of Sunway University collaborated in a stringent selection process to ensure that only academically outstanding students, with a CGPA of 3 and above, who were all rounders and passed an interview, were allowed to join the programme.

It definitely unleashed our innate talents which will enable us to present ourselves in a better light to prospective employers” said Quah.
