Train the Trainers Programme for ACCA

A 'Train the Trainers Programme', organised by the ACCA Shanghai, was conducted by Sunway-TES in August 2006. The efforts of the trainers were appreciated and the trainees commended the programme as interesting, motivational and relevant. Approximately, 100 trainees from various provinces in China attended this training programme. The training effort was a stepping stone to greater involvement with the accountancy profession in China itself.

In October 2006 and May 2007, Sunway-TES, in a joint collaboration with ACCA Shanghai, conducted the ACCA Revision Courses for the Core/Final Papers (Papers 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7). Students from various provinces in China attended the Revision Courses and found the interaction to be challenging and meaningful.

Following the success of the Revision Seminar, Sunway-TES established the Shanghai Sunway Financial Training Co. Ltd. in February 2008. This establishment of the first institution abroad by Sunway-TES marks its continuous efforts to provide world-class tuition to aspiring accountants, and business and financial leaders in the Asia-Pacific region. Students of Shanghai Sunway Financial Training Co. Ltd. have experienced the highest quality of teaching and learning, like their peers in Malaysia, as the Company brings in the same team of qualified, experienced and committed lecturers who are producers of world prize-winners and high achievers.

In May 2008, Shanghai Sunway Financial Training Co. Ltd. was awarded the 'Gold Status' by ACCA, UK. Efforts have been made to bring, on board, students who have completed secondary education in China and who wish to pursue the CAT and ACCA, and the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) qualification in one pathway. Students, on completion of Kao Gau or equivalent, are given Communication Skills in Business, an English language course of three months' duration before they enrol in CAT (1 year), ACCA Skills Modules (1 year), Bachelor of Business (Accounting) in Victoria University, Melbourne (2 years) and ACCA Professional Modules (1 year) on a full-time basis.

Shanghai Sunway Financial Training Co. Ltd. also received the ICAEW Partner in Learning recognition by ICAEW, UK. Since September 2008, Shanghai Sunway Financial Training Co. Ltd. has prepared more than 20 students from Deloitte, China for the ICAEW exams and gained excellent results.

In August 2011, Shanghai Sunway Financial Training Co. Ltd. has successful conducted First Train The Trainer (TTT) Conference outside PR China at Sunway College in Malaysia for senior lecturers and management staffs from 17 Universities all over China.

In September 2011, a collaboration between Shanghai Sunway Financial Training Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Lixin University of Commerce to launching Sunway ACCA Programme at Lixin, China.

Vietnam

Collaborative efforts made have resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Hanoi University, Vietnam, in November 2008. The collaboration involves the provision of ACCA qualification in Hanoi University itself. Classes have commenced in March 2009.
