Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship
The Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship is awarded to enrolling freshmen in recognition of their excellent academic achievements prior to admission into a new programme in Sunway College.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 2 weeks after the commencement date of programme or 2 weeks after the release of actual results.

Terms & Conditions
- The scholarship is offered strictly to full-time registered students at Sunway College.
- Offer of scholarship will only be made when the College receives the actual results.
- Scholarship is awarded in the form of tuition fee waiver.
- The scholarship is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash.
- The award will be terminated upon completion of the study period specified by Sunway College.
- Students receiving scholarships from other bodies are not eligible for this scholarship.
- The final decision to grant a scholarship is at the sole discretion of the Scholarship Committee of Sunway College.
- Entrance scholarships are available to Malaysians only.
- English 1119 will not be considered when granting the scholarship.
- All scholarship recipients must attend the scholarship ceremony to receive the scholarship.
- Students must meet the programme entry point prior to be eligible for scholarship.
- Sunway College reserves the right to change the Terms & Conditions of the scholarships as and when required without prior notice.
For Pre-University/Foundation Programmes

Disbursement of scholarship:
- 1 year programme. The disbursement of tuition fee waiver will be implemented in the 2nd semester of the programme.
- 1.5 year programme. The disbursement of tuition fee waiver will be distributed in equal amount between 2nd semester and 3rd semester of the programme.
- Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments upon securing the scholarship. Any excess amount paid in the first semester will be reimbursed upon successful completion of the programme.
- Tuition fee waivers for full scholars apply to the following: tuition fees for Australian Matriculation (5 subjects), Cambridge GCE A Level (3 subjects), Canadian International Matriculation Programme (up to 6 subjects only), Monash University Foundation Year (8 units only) and Foundation in Arts (Core Subject: 6, Academic Elective: 3, Enrichment Subject: 5).
For Diploma Programmes
- The tuition fee waiver will be implemented in the 2nd semester of the programme.
- Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments until the full utilisation of the total 1st year tuition fee.
- Full scholars upon utilising the total of the 1st year tuition fee, will continue fee payments for the remaining semesters.
For American Degree Transfer Program
- The tuition fee waiver will be implemented from the 2nd semester of the programme until the full utilisation of the scholarship amount granted. Scholars upon utilising of the total amount granted shall continue to make payments on the remaining billable amounts.
- Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments until the full utilisation of the total 30 credit hours tuition fee. Scholars upon utilising the total of the 30 credit hours tuition fee will continue tuition fee payments for the remaining semesters.
For Degree Programmes
- The tuition fee waiver will be implemented from the 1st semester of the programme onwards.
- Scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship through Student Services Department on a yearly basis.
- There shall be no upgrading of scholarships.
- Decision on the continuation of the scholarship is at the sole discretion of the Head of Department of the respective programme and the Scholarship Committee.

For UEC scholars:
- Points are calculated based on 5 subjects, exclusive of Chinese, Chinese Literature, Art and non-academic subjects
- Results for all subjects must be at least C and above

Scholars must maintain the following minimum grades as part of the criteria to continue the scholarship:
- Scholars on 25% scholarship must meet a minimum of 65% grade average.
- Scholars on 50% scholarship must meet a minimum of 70% grade average.
For Continuing Scholarship
- Students receiving this scholarship are not eligible for the 10% Continuing Bursary.
- This scholarship is only available to Sunway University/Sunway College students (Malaysian & international) who have completed either a Pre-University, Diploma or Foundation programme with Sunway University/Sunway College, Sunway College JB or Sunway College Ipoh.
- The tuition fee waiver will be implemented from the 1st semester of the programme onwards.
- Scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the scholarship through Student Services Department on a yearly basis.
- There shall be no upgrading of scholarships.
- Decision on continuation of the scholarship is at the sole discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
