Application Procedures

Application Documents required

All International Students should read the requirements for enrolment carefully and ensure all information is complete before submission.

Fill up and submit the International Student Application Form. To avoid delays, please ensure that all information is complete, with the following documents attached:

  • Completed Application Form
  • MYR 700 Enrolment Fee (non-refundable, non-transferable)
  • MYR 2,000 Visa processing fee (non-refundable) – for Student Visa- and EMGS-related process
  • Student Visa processing fee for Indonesian applicants MYR 3,000 (2 years) (non-refundable)*
  • (Programs: ACCA, ADTP, Diploma, Bachelor)
  • Completed Pre-Arrival Medical Health Examination Report
  • 2 passport photos (white background – size 3.5cm X 4.5cm, neutral facial expression)
  • 1 copy of passport (ALL pages including blank pages, 2 pages per A4 sheet, single side). Passport must be valid for a minimum of 18 months from intake date.
  • *For Indonesians, minimum of 30 months from intake date (Programs: ACCA, ADTP, Diploma, Bachelor).
  • 1 copy of official academic results

 

Others

  • 1 copy of Release Letter, including attendance & academic record (for applicants with previously issued student Visa Approval Letters from other higher education institutions in Malaysia)
  • 1 copy of English Language qualifications such as IELTS, TOEFL, etc.
  • (for non-English medium of instruction/ education system/ qualifications)
  • Resume/Character Reference Letter
  • (for applicants above 23 years old, required by the Malaysian Immigration Dept.)
  • 1 copy of Sponsorship letter
  • (for applicants financed by scholarship/sponsorship/study loan)
  • 1 copy of School Leaving Certificate
  • (for applicants graduating from high schools in Malaysia)
  • Statutory Declaration confirming identity
  • (for applicants with names spelt differently in official transcripts and documents)
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Sudan or Letter of Eligibility (LOE) for Iran citizens

 

CAMPUS RESIDENCE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS (IF REQUIRED)

  • Completed Residence Application Form
  • MYR 500 Residence Application Fee (non-refundable nor transferable) 1 passport photograph
  • 1 copy of passport (only the personal information page)

 

10 STEPS TO APPLY

  1. Submit complete documents and Pre-Arrival medical report with full payment as follows: Enrolment Fee MYR 700 + Visa & EMGS* related Processing Fees MYR 2,000 = MYR 2,700 (USD800)

Applicants from Indonesia are granted 2-year visas (for ACCA, ADTP, Diploma and Bachelor) Enrolment Fee MYR 700 + EMGS related Processing Fees MYR 3,000 = MYR 3,700 (USD1100).

If Residence (Hostel) is required - Add Residence Application Fee MYR 500.

Total will be MYR 3,200 (USD1000).  For Indonesians it will be MYR 4,200 (USD1200).

  1. Pay by electronic bank transfer (Telegraphic Transfer - T/T). Payments must be confirmed received by our bank for further processing. See next page for banking details.
  1. An Offer Letter from International Office (I.O.) will be sent to you.
  1. Accept the Offer by returning the signed Acceptance of Offer Form.
  1. Your application will be submitted to EMGS for student visa approval (estimated processing time: 8 weeks).
  1. Upon obtaining the student Visa Approval Letter (VAL), pay initial Advance Fees of MYR 18,000. (Pre-U/Diploma/Bachelor Degree). Payments by T/T.
  1. Upon successful payment, the student VAL will be couriered to you.

(A complimentary mobile phone SIM Card is included to facilitate communication upon your arrival)

  1. Apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) at the nearest Malaysian Embassy/ Consulate. (Certain countries are exempted – Please check with I.O.)
  1. Notify I.O. of your arrival by sending the Airport Arrival Form. I.O. will confirm your pick-up by email.
  1. Report to I.O. on the next business day for registration and briefing (on Post-Arrival medical screening, opening bank account, passport endorsement, etc.).

Email the computer printout of the Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) confirmation from your bank to: int_admin@sunway.edu.my (International Office) or finance@sunway.edu.my to trace and confirm the payment.

Please include the following information:

  • Name of student – Nationality - Passport Number
  • Program of study - Month / Year of intake (e.g. January 2016)
  • Details of payment – e.g. for Application fees, Residence application, EMGS fees, Tuition, Rent, etc.

Funds transferred must be confirmed “Received” by our bank before further processing.

USD exchange rates are estimates only and subject to daily forex movements at the time of remittance.

All bank charges and foreign exchange rate movements are borne by applicants.

Excess amounts (if any) will be set-off against following semester’s fees, and shortages (if any) need to be topped up.

 

  • EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) grants Indonesian applicants 2-year student visas for programs with duration of 2 years and more: ACCA, ADTP, Diploma, Bachelor degrees. Pre-University programs are not affected.
