Benjamin Goh, CFA is currently CIMB Research’s Retail Market Strategist. In this role, Ben regularly provides analysis and insight on market moving events, the global macroeconomic environment, assets and individual securities.
Ben’s previous roles in CIMB include being a portfolio manager in the Discretionary Investment Unit as well as heading the Products and Business Development division.
Before joining CIMB Securities, Ben held a number of diverse roles in AB Maximus, JPMorgan, Credit Suisse, Deloitte Consulting and Hewlett Packard.
A regular instructor with CFA Singapore since 2009, Ben speciality is equity analysis, portfolio management and economics.
Benjamin received his Masters in Finance from the ICMA Centre, United Kingdom, in 2002 and became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 2001.
Chong Lock Kuah, CFA, is a trading representative/registered representative at UOB KayHian.
Mr. Chong teaches part-time at the local Universities. He is currently an associate lecturer at SIM University, teaching part-time BSc (Finance) programme. He also teaches part-time at NUS Business School.
He has been teaching CFA Examination Review courses for Level 2 at CFA Singapore since 2004.
He has more than 10 years experience in teaching finance and investment related courses. He started teaching, on a regular basis, in-house and public-run preparatory courses for CMFAS Exam since 2003. Currently, he is one of the instructor teaching CMFAS Module 6A course for SGX and IBF.
Mr. Chong conducted course on “Option Trading” for Bursa Malaysia in 2011 before Bursa launched the option contract on crude palm oil futures. He also taught FICS Accredited course at FTI@ SMU in 2009.
Marie-Laure Caille, CFA is an Adjunct Lecturer in Finance at ESSEC Business School (Singapore Campus) and an independent consultant. Prior to teaching for ESSEC, Marie-Laure was a Director at Pickering Pacific, an M&A boutique firm based in Singapore. She has also worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG); she was based in Jakarta and worked in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, she was an economist with the United Nations Support Facility for Indonesian Recovery (UNSFIR), a system-wide UN facility set up in 1998 to provide technical support to the UN System in Jakarta. She started her career as a research assistant for the Trade Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Marie-Laure has taught micro- and macro-economics and corporate finance at SIM University (Singapore), and microeconomics for the University of London External Program in Singapore.
Marie-Laure holds an MSc from the London School of Economics in Development Studies with a concentration in Economics, and is a CFA charter holder.
Eric Koh, CFA graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce. In addition to being a CFA charterholder, he is also a member of CPA Australia and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Eric brings a unique blend of professional and academic experience. He commenced his professional life as an auditor in an international public accounting firm.
He then sought to gain commercial experience from the banking industry, learning from and, subsequently, leading various business performance and strategic analysis initiatives and exercises. Eric has held senior positions in banks and a global shared service centre. An avid learner, Eric completed his MBA to enrich his appreciation of business dynamics and analysis. He has also earned a PhD to enhance his academic and research competencies.
Eric's passion for helping people learn has seen him serve in various training and education aspects, including the CFA exam preparatory programmes, the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (previously known as Institute of Bankers Malaysia) examination programmes as well as various university undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Mr. S.S. Sandhu FCA, CPA has extensive experience working within the financial markets sector in Asia. He has deep technical knowledge covering listed companies, multinationals, initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions due diligence gained over 18 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was also the CFO of one of the largest financial institutions in Singapore.
He is both a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant and has provided advisory services to many public listed companies, multinationals and government-linked companies on the development of financial reporting standards and changes in regulatory environment.
Tolmas Wong, CFA is currently a Director (Sales), Private Clients Services with CIMB & an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Management University. He has over 15 years of experience in fund management and stock broking, and has held various positions at United Overseas Bank, Citicorp Vickers and Schroder Securities.
Tolmas has graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration at the National University of Singapore and Master of Applied Finance at the Macquarie University, Australia. He is a CFA charter holder, and is formerly a Board Member of CFA Singapore and the Asian Securities Analysts Federation.
Mr. Ooi Kok Hwa, CFA is the Managing Partner of MRR Consulting, dealing mainly with Business Appraisal, Investment and Financial Training. He is a CFA charter holder and is also a licensed Investment Advisor by the Securities Commission of Malaysia. He is a member of Institute Business Appraiser (IBA), United State of America specializing in business appraisal for private limited companies. He is a part-time research analyst in Dynaquest Sdn. Bhd. for the past 15 years.
As a licensed investment advisor, Mr. Ooi provides investment advisory services to clients, covering investments in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and US markets. Mr. Ooi is also actively involved in providing investment training, CFA Examination preparation courses and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses for fund managers, research analysts, remisiers, brokers and general public. He has been lecturing CFA Programs for more than 10 years. Besides, he is also one of the main trainers in providing technical training sessions and examination material preparation for the training arm of Securities Commission of Malaysia, the Security Industry Development Corporation’s (SIDC), covering various programs, such as Graduate Development program, Directors’ training program and APEC Work Placement Program. In addition, he is also a regular trainer for Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX).
Darren Degraaf, CFA, is currently the CFA Curriculum Director at A.B. Maximus, a leading provider of CFA preparation classes. He was previously the Faculty Manager for Becker Professional Education of Devry Inc, a component stock of the S&P500. He's one of the top CFA instructors in North America.
Before moving to Becker Professional Education, he was a Senior Manager at HSBC Bank in Vancouver. In this position, he focused on credit risk exposure of the bank's lending portfolio. Prior to that, Darren held various analytical and accounting positions in their Finance, Asset Management, and Insurance divisions, over his 12+ year career there.
In terms of his lecturing experience, for the past 9 years he has taught in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and throughout Asia - teaching a wide range of Level 1 to 3 CFA topics of the CFA program. In addition, Darren is a seasonal lecturer for the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. Finally, he lectures on the Financial and BEC sections of the U.S. CPA program.
